Shafted

Ripped off, cheated, treated most unfairly by people or even just by fate...

The story of Shark Island!

Shark Island were the biggest band in LA in the 80's, every band copied their style, their moves, everything. Axl Rose ripped off a lot of Richard Black's (Shark Island singer) moves and got famous with them. Yep, Shark Island got well and truly shafted!

Spank

1. Spank means to lay your hand on somebody at a high velocity.

2. Fictional drug in the video game "Grand Theft Auto 3".

3. A term meaning "very cool". The word spank is lesser known in this context, but has been used by the likes of Eddie on the show "Grounded For Life".

1. You gonna get spanked!

2. There's slangers dealing spank all over the streets of Liberty City.

Allot

Correct definition = distribute: administer or bestow, as in small portions.

Incorrect version: An illiterate way of spelling "a lot". The most common mistake however (very common unfortunetly) is "alot".

I'm no snooty English teacher or anything, but these particular mistakes drive me crazy! What is going on with education these days?

Correct example: Given as a task; "her allotted chores"

Incorrect example: "I liek that allot"
