Sea beef is another name for lobster. The term was coined in the late 1990âs by grade 12 economics student Michael Wang when he proved that lobster is a perfect economic substitute for beef. When studying the decline in demand for beef during the mad cow scare, Wang noticed that lobster demanded levels rose in direct collation with the declining consumption of beef. Wang wrote a B+ paper on the subject entitled âThe Beef of the Seaâ.
He ordered a sea beef for dinner.
