Aza

The word Aza in Edo dialect (in Edo State, South South Nigeria) means pouch, where market women hide their money. The pouch or Aza is tied or sewn beneath their clothes. Today it is loosely refered to as savings or bank account when speaking pidgin English.

"Guy my Aza(account) don dry" . Translation: Am broke or my bank account is empty.
