Alisher

name of mixed Arab-Persian descent, spoken mainly by Shiites of non-Arab descent. The first part of the name, "Ali" - translated from Arabic means "high", "sublime".
The second component of the name "sher" in translation from Farsi means "lion or tiger". Leo symbolizes strength and power. The name Alisher means, thus, Lev Ali (companion of Muhammad).

Sometimes it is believed that the full form of the name sounds like Ali-sher-e-hod and in translation means Ali - the lion (tiger) of God.

Alisher (Ali-sher-e-hod) the lion of Allah)
