Athenian Fallacy

The Athenian Fallacy is a logical fallacy wherein someone takes a positive opinion of something due to one or few highly positive traits, despite those positives being far outweighed by numerous negative traits of a lesser degree. Takes its name from the not-so-democratic democracy of ancient Athens.

Steve: "Wow Athens was a democracy, how great! I mean all the people could vote except women, slaves, freed slaves, foreigners living there, children, men who haven't done military service so like 90% of the population; but still wasn't ancient democracy just so amazing!

Alexios: Dude you're literally committing the Athenian Fallacy!

Nice Upper Body

A compliment, that usually doesn't work, for a lady who has giant boobs. The advantage of this is that when your friends berate you for obviously telling her to her face she has big ass boobs you can say you were trying to tell her she had a pretty face.

Batty: You've got a Nice Upper Body!

Peter: That was not not subtle dude.

Babylonian Sandwich

When you put two slices of pizza together so that the bottom of the slices face outwards, making it like a sandwich, and then eat it like that. Has nothing to do with Babylonians.

Hey Mat, don't Babylonian Sandwiches taste the best?

Special Military Operation

100% not an invasion. Anyone who conducts a Special Military Operation is an extremely stand up guy and is devoted to world peace with zero intentions whatsoever of starting a war against a sovereign nation. Trust me guys, I am definitely NOT being held at gunpoint by the secret police right now.

I am conducting a Special Military Operation (not an invasion!) to ensure peace in Ukraine.

Chronicler Effect

When one adopts the persona of having a crush on someone not available to them (usually because they are fictional or along-dead historical figures) for the sake of a joke for so long that one develops a legitimate crush on them.

Named after a member of a history-themed discord server who acted as a chronicler of all the events occurring (this happens to be me lol).

Chronicler: I say Anna Komnene my beloved, but is it sad that I think I legitimately have a bit of a crush on her now?

Sokrates: Same, I think I might have actually got the Chronicler Effect. I 've got an actual crush on Belisarius as well!
