I witness a glimmer in my darkness

It began with a slight twinkle, and then it became rays of sunshine

Turns out it was him all along
He must've come from above because
He is forever glowing, and no such thing exists in my world

He could be the sun…
And his smile beamed like a thousand fireflies
I stood mesmerized by his light

He is rare, and I know he isn't from here
How does he always shine so effortlessly?
He's a candle; I never want it to go out

And I'm afraid if we were ever to collide, we would lose our harmony and form an eclipse
