trophy logic

This is the idea that any footballer/manager of a football club who has won trophies in their career is better than one who has not.
By extension, the more trophies a player/manager has won the better said player is. It doesn’t account for a players technical abilities & overall scoring/defending records & in the case of manager, their tactical nouse, game & player management skills.
Central to this philosophy is that football, and any other sport is only about winning & no other metric should be used to judge how good or bad a player or manager is.
This idea is particularly popular on Twitter & is mostly associated with a bloke named Mike_LUHG

Example 1
Random Twitter user: What are your thoughts on Divok Origi?

MikeLUHG: He’s better than that serial loser Harry Kane. He (Origi) won Liverpool the Champions League 2018/19 & it’s no surprise that he won the league title in 2019/20, trophy logic has never failed me. Hope this helps.

Example 2
Random Twitter user 1: Luke Shaw has improved ever since Ole Gunnar Solkjaer took over from Jose Mourinho

MikeLUHG: Luke Shaw has bottled 18 trophies since he was released from the shackles of Jose Mourinho, the only manager in his career that he's ever won a trophy under. Hope this helps

Random Twitter user 2: Trophy logic wins again!!! 🏆
