Love him or hate him, Howard Stern is the juggernaut of modern day radio. Propaganda aside numbers are the true test of his merit and that he is still very relevant after his move to Sirius. Before Stern 600,000 Sirius subscribers and at this time they are over 5,000,000 strong and closing in on XM who wasted money on Oprah with her 30 minutes a week on the air. I am sure not all the new subscribers are for Stern but a vast majority are and the buzz he created peeked the interest for the others. He may whine that people rip him off and he may have not have invented everything in morning radio he just perfected it.
Howard Stern brought over at least 2,000,000 subscribers to Sirius, Opie and Anthony brought thousands of listeners to XM.

Jim Rome is an annoying sports talk show host that peaked in the 90's. Rome uses tired catch phrases and is all style and no substance. His TV shows change times and networks often because they are boring shows.

Take two parts comedy, mix in one part tragedy then add devil dogs and jack and water and you have Artie Lange. He gives the Stern show it's everyman appeal with his love of sports, gambling and drinking. Artie an actor and comedian who shines in his new FCC free surroundings at Sirius. He doesn't need to curse to be funny but it doesn't hurt either. His on air screaming matches with Crazy Alice and Beetlejuice are comedy gold. Artie makes everyone on the show better when he is on and when he is gone to shoot films or do a guest shot on Entourage the show is missing that spark. He recently signed a development deal with Fox, if he gets a show his Stern days will probably be numbered. All I can say is that he is a addictive fat guy with a heart of gold and a liver of a 98 year old.

Two mediocre personalities that are obsessed with Howard Stern. They are have little talent and even less originality. Originally on XM they had an additional subscription fee to get the show and signed up few thousand people. They are dying a slow death just like XM.
