Dutch Glove

To receive something that looks good on the surface, but is in fact a bad thing.

This phrase has its basis in the flower of the same name, which is very beautiful, but smells terrible. The meaning of the phrase in the above definition comes from the placing of the flower into a bouquet to give someone, therefore 'slipping them the Dutch Glove".

- I totally got the Dutch Glove on that one, (after buying a car with a nice paint job, but a faulty engine)

- You just slipped them the Dutch Glove (thinks the seller to himself)
