-Being in and/or handling a really bad situation. Often involving family/relationship. But rarely meant in a literal manner.

Thomas- "Hey, what happened last night?"
Steve- "Sorry man. I was in a Shit-uation. My cat got run over, and I had to bury it so the dogs didn't eat it.?"
Thomas- "Did they?"
