when you attempt to answer someone's question, but you're not exactly correct. but you have a general idea of the answer.

"what does the term credit mean?" asks Mr. Wagner.
"when you don't have cash and you still buy something" said Meister.
"You're In the ballpark." replied Mr. Wagner.
