A racial slur sinophobic (Chinese-hating), racist people use against Asians after COVID in 2020. They think the pandemic from China gave them license to discriminate against Asians whenever they feel like it.
If you say youâre not Chinese, they say youâre ugly, because 1) they donât find beauty in general Asian features and 2) they want to make you feel bad.
âChineseâ is the slur nowadays simply because Covid came from China and people use that term to make Asians feel bad by association. If it came from Korea, and Koreans were getting the hate every night on TV like the Chinese are, theyâd call Asians they want to attack âKoreanâ to insult them, and so on.
Some people act like they arenât being racist calling a random Asian âChinese,â because âChineseâ is an ethnicity and not a race. But you canât tell who is Chinese by evaluating their looks, their general Asian features (such as eyes), so it is racist. Imagine calling a Black person âHaitianâ or a White person âRussian.â They have Haitian and Russian features, respectively! But are they Haitian or Russian?
Letâs stop discriminating against others for their differences and treat everyone, even Asians and of course the Chinese, as equals. Because they are. We as people are equals and are one race, togetherâthe human race.
If someone calls you a slur, itâs because they canât accept that everyone is equal and just as worthy as they are. Thereâs something wrong with themâ not you!
Have a great day! :)
They walk by you and randomly yell, âCHINESE!!â
âYouâre not Chinese? But youâre so ugly!â
