People's Liberation Army
The name of the armed forces of the People's Republic of China.
The PLA is composed of three branches:
*PLA (People's Liberation Army)
The Army is the very basis of the military, composed of "grunts" trained to become infantry for usual land warfare. Like any other nation's military, it has artillery (like tanks and other armor), special forces, engineers, and basic infantry.
*PLAN (People's Liberation Army Navy)
The PLAN is like any other navy, since it has ship all kinds (like warships, carriers, and submarines). The PLAN also has a Marine Corps, although it's not as advanced, or powerful, as the USMC.
*PLAAF (People's Liberation Army Air Force)
The PLAAF is like any other nation's airforce in that it has aircraft of all kinds. China has been experimenting with UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
The PLA is owned by the PRCCMC (People's Republic of China Central Military Commission), which is run by a chairman, often a general.
The PLA also specializes in fields involving C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence), outer space and, of course, nuclear arsenal.
In China, people are required to join the military upon graduation from school. In otherwords, unlike other sources saying so, the setup is not a draft, but seemingly, conscription.
"The PLA is interesting in that their main assault rifles, the T95's, are chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO....that's the US & allied caliber for assault rifles....are we looking at an alliance with China one day?.....probably not. -_- such a shame. China, with its interesting culture and rich history....fascinated with world domination like eons ago....but what do I know; I'm an American. Being American is a good thing, but it has its downs too. -_- "

A UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) developed by Sikorsky. It basically consists of a donut-shaped engine (with rotary blades) with a little camera attached a few feet above it. The Cypher project has really been a black project and will probably continue to be for a while, but its tests have gone quite well. The Cypher can be remote-controlled, or even automated. The images captured by Cypher's camera are relayed to a computer that is managed by a distant specialist, and perhaps various options can be accessed from that laptop, such as NV or IR vision.
Although there are many other UAV drones that have already been deployed into the legitimate battlefield, the Cypher should still be an excellent tool for reconaissance.
"The Cypher was popularized in Metal Gear Solid 2. But let's see how much more popular it becomes in real-life."

The world's largest lake, located inbetween Canada and the USA. States linked to Lake Superior are Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
On an important note, the reason for the hypocritical weather (IOW : constant weather changes here & there) in these states is because of Lake Superior. Apparently, from a non-scientific perspective, the lake is so large that the atmosphere around it is changed rapidly, so you may never know what the weather may be like, regardless of what weather reporters tell you.
"Lake Superior is also shaped like a monster's head."
