A very small and quaint place made up of of simple people. Itâs the epitome of a one light town. This 4-way stop is in the center of it all and âgoing to townâ means youâre going to be driving through it. A Dixie Depot, Food Tiger, Family Dollar and Dollar General, recently added Pizza Hut and a few other shops makes it all feel like a scene from a Hallmark movie and you sorta half expect romantic music to begin playing as a young couple embrace each other after a long battle with love, heartbreak, life lessons and whatever else Hallmark can fit into a 90 minute movie. Their relationship is much like a plane caught in turbulence and here in this âthey almost gotta red lightâ community, theyâve found love. Thanks, Hallmark.
In and of this old fashioned place, youâll find more than just a few shopping venues, youâll find southern hospitality, manners, chivalry and a whole lotta maâamâs and sirâs. Traditions run deep and the âHey. How are ya? Howâs ya mama nâem?â seem to never run out. Men shake hands. Women give warm hugs. And the children behave like children. Hurley has not a single hotel or bed and breakfast. Overnighters are those that have family or friends so if this place sounds like somewhere ya wanna visit, Mobile, Alabama is 20 minutes away. They scenery is quite pleasant so donât fret on the lengthy drive. Youâll be glad you made the trip. Happy traveling yâall!
Hey! Weâre almost to Hurley, Mississippi. Oh wait, there it went.
