Load-Out

The period after a special event ends when the crews get to work tearing down their equipment and evacuating the venue within a certain time period.

"Room's clear! Go Load-Out! We have to be out of this room in 3 hours!"

"Did you hear about the last hotel Load-Out? I can't believe they got 6 trucks of gear out so quick!"

"I am NOT looking forward to this Load-Out."

"When was this event supposed to end? We should have been Loading-Out an hour ago!"

Briefcaser

The person who walks in carrying only his/her briefcase (or personal bag of some kind) after Load-In, and leaves carrying only his/her briefcase before Load-Out begins for a special event production. Not much is known what happens between these times as they are rarely seen outside of Front of House (FOH), while the rest of us work to make all the last minute changes

"Dickson doesn't do anything, he's just a briefcaser."

"It must be nice to be a briefcaser on one of these gigs....Man that's a lot of confetti!"

Load-In

The period of time where vendors arrive at a venue and set up their equipment in preparation for some special event. Usually involving short term set-ups.

"We only have 6 hours for this Load-In to be show ready."

"You mean we actually have enough time on this Load-In to do things the RIGHT way?!"
