Toother

A person who believes water fluoridation is a conspiracy by the medical community to keep people dependent on them, and that fluoride promotes, rather than hinders, tooth decay. Fluoridation has also been said to cause a whole range of illnesses, and was once believed, by far-right-wing activists, to turn people into Communists. This last belief featured prominently as a plot point in the classic movie "Dr. Strangelove."

"A Toother contacted me last night on Twitter after I retweeted Ezra Klein's story in the Washington Post on Portland voting on fluoridation. She said 'Wait til women understand Y kids need braces! OUCH' and sent me a bunch of links to groups in Canada."
