flymptom

A false symptom, either a legitimate mistake, but also sometimes used deceptively by someone to trick others into believing that the person has a condition that does not really exist.

The person was trying to determine where the wood creaking noises were coming from, a clear case of a flymptom, as he was not looking around the room aimlessly as you described.

flawsuit

A court case, or lawsuit that is based on some trivial matter, or takes advantage of a flawed or loose law, usually motivated by greed, and implies some degree taking advantage of a simple accidental occurrence, for monetary gain

I still can't believe that we now have to look at that ridiculous "Caution Hot Coffee" message on some of our coffee cups, which is somewhat of an insult to one's intelligence, due to that darn flawsuit.

coppercopter

A police helicopter that is really cool.

I really love that movie "Blue Thunder", and especially the coppercopter that Roy Scheider, who coincidentally played the part of the Sherrif in the movie"Jaws" flew, and looped.

Can also refer to a person who acts in this manner solely for the entertainment of the folks watching, and for himself of herself.

I acted like a snoop clown to get the folks that were looking at me through my window to laugh.
