mousetrap cheese

A derogatory phrase used to describe a cheese that has little or no texture or flavour when that particular verity of cheese is supposed to have a certain texture and/or flavour, however mild.

Indicated that the person thinks the cheese is only fit for use in a mouse trap.

Derives from the fact that a person would not use a very good (and hence expensive) cheese to bait a mouse trap. They would use the cheapest cheese they could find as They would not care that it had no taste because they did not actually intend to eat it.

"How was your cheese sandwich?"

"Awful, mousetrap cheese." Meaning "Awful, tasteless."

Hipperpottercow

Derived from Hippopotamus & cow.

A derogatory name for a female who is as fat as a hippopotamus and as ugly as a cow.

"I pulled last night. Yea!"

"I noticed, you must have had your beer goggles on, she was a Hipperpottercow if ever I saw one."

piss holes in the snow

Holes made in the snow, that are not attractive because you know how they were made.

Normally used to refer to a persons eyes "The morning after night before" when they have a very bad hangover, and it shows.

1. "Man what a night I had last night, I got totally pissed!"

2. "I can tell, your eyes look like piss holes in the snow."

Put a sock in it

Currently means "Be Quit" or "Shut up".

Originally meant "Turn the Volume down."

In the days before Electricity there was no Volume Control on a record player (Gramophone) so the only way to reduce the volume down was to "Put a sock" (Or other item) in the speaker to muffle it.

Two kids are playing noisily, and their Dad shouts at them "Put a sock in it you two, I am on the Phone!"
