Apparently the answer is 6 times 9.

6 x 9 = 42 in base 13, rather than base 10.
In base 10, 6 x 9 = 54.
4 times 13 = 52, means you have 2 left. So, 42 = 54 in base 13, and not base 9 like that other guy said.
