Short for Faux Emergency Mom. A mom who thinks and acts like she is FEMA, making sure that you, her adult child, have all of the necessary supplies (in abundance) that you need--without a current or imminent emergency/disaster taking place and wholly unsolicited.

I just got a surprise package in the mail from FEMom filled with 2 packages of mega-roll toilet paper, 5 boxes of cartoon character bandaids, a random weird-scented soap from Bath & Body Works, 3 tubes of toothpaste, 2 boxes of pancake mix, a halloween-themed kitchen towel, and a roll of stamps.

A favor that is done in exchange for money.

"Hey, I have a project that needs your expertise. Would you do me a payvor?" "For sure!"

Gnawing at the rope

When you are tied up with some obligation that you don't want to be at and trying to leave. Often said when there is something else going on that you'd rather be doing at that time and want to get to as soon as possible.

Friend: "Hey, are you gonna meet up with us?"
You: "Yeah, I'm at this family dinner right now but gnawing at the rope. Be there as soon as I can."
