On my ride on the Lirr to Penn station on their new Kawasaki M9 trains it was like heaven, the seats are nice, the announcements are soo easy to hear, and the interior looks so good especially with the TV screens. It looks like it was designed by someone who hated beauty. Itâs got that awkward, slab-sided, boxy front that screams "function over form" in the worst possible way. The nose? Itâs a bizarre, oversized, clunky monstrosity that looks like a bulldog thatâs been hit in the face with a sledgehammer. The whole thing has an unrefined, "Iâm here to get the job done, screw looking pretty" vibe. Itâs like someone threw together a bunch of steel plates and said, "Yeah, thatâll do." Ugly, ugly, ugly.
