VBR stands for "Verify Before Retweeting." Many Twitter users retweet information that is false but convince those who agree with them to believe the false information and they themselves retweet is true, thus leading to further retweeting. VBR is a shorthand way to remind or admonish those who retweet false information that they should verify the information before retweeting it.
