Sadie, Sadie.. “A married lady”.
From the original Streisand film: Funny Girl, and Broadway stage production. Fanny mentions wanting to be a “Sadie” after arriving to Arnstein, and gives her a ring. There the song “Sadie,Sadie married lady” starts, she imagines all of the wonderful things that will come of the marriage.
