More of a force than a person really, the token nerd character from Pretty in Pink, who ended up choosing the high road of acceptance and grace over petty jealousy and obsession in the film. Later attained further success with his character of the brother of Charlie Sheen in the sitcom Two and a Half Men.
He's a nice guy but he needs to find himself. He needs to realize that maybe a genuine friendship with Molly is worth just as much as the romantic relationship he has dreamed of but probably can't have.

Usually a phenomenon left to the realm of public bathrooms or workplace bathrooms, literally a smear of shit often occuring in unexpected areas such as the floor or the wall, confusing the succeeders of the incident.
There were fresh shit smears on the wall, which may seem a strange observation to make, but he had only just been in the bathroom an hour earlier when the wall was actually just plain white tile, whereas now it had become newly decorated with what he wanted to believe were just strokes of brown paint, but he knew in his heart it was something much more human in origin.

The sensitive, much-beleaguered, long-haired school teacher from Beavis and Butthead. His efforts to seamlessly integrate a hippie sensibility while taking on the role of the modern school teacher/authority figure could often lead to interesting consequences.
Mr. Van Driessen, as his students called him, sometimes tried to inspire them and enrich their learning experience through the use of song, which often seemed to lead him into some kind of trouble. He wrote such campfire tunes as "Men Have Feelings, Too" and "Touch a Mountain".
During one field trip, the students were becoming restless during the bus ride so he decided to calm them down with a performance of the second song mentioned, which became sadly prophetic as the bus driver made a, shall we say, confidently sudden stop and Mr. Van Driessen and his guitar were thrown mid-song through the windshield of the school bus and down a treacherous cliff.
He was later recovered by medics and brought up by helicopter although unfortunately not escaping many cuts and bruises brought on from the 100 ft+ descent.
Mr. Van Driessen asked the students to sit in a circle in a group exercise to help them to appreciate and respect each other's feelings.
1. Former governer of California who "screwed it on the energy crisis" as described by political talk show host Chris Matthews.
2. Derivative term named after the former state governer, used to describe someone who screws it on a given energy crisis.
Boy, that guy's really a Gray Davis, he screwed it on that sunlight crisis by first declaring a state of emergency and then coming up with the solution of hiking up fees so people would use fewer solar power-dependant utilities.

N. One who seethes.
Background/Origin: Contrived by Nina Gordon of the Rock band Veruca Salt, having been inspired by the characteristic of artist/poet William Blake to write with authority about a world that seemingly existed only in his head, and musicians like Prince who invent certain words in their songs and use them with such authority as if they were from a dictionary. Examples from Prince include "lovesexy" or his unusual pairing of "spooky electric".
You can't fight the Seether I can't see her till I'm foaming at the mouth.
Note: Usage of the feminine pronoun indicative of the notion that the feminine principle represents emotion, power, movement, or destruction.

Cough drops that that are sweet and candy-like but are marketed as medicinal, with their ingenious trademarked "mentholyptus" as one of its main selling points, having an effect of giving a sense of clearing of the nasal pathways. People sometimes complain that they can smell them even if they're in your mouth.
"Hey, can I enter the Halls of medicine?" i.e. Can I have one of your Halls cough drops?
