verb. To end a relationship with someone you've been dating in a conscious, kind, and intentional way as oppsed to "ghosting." Ideally, the two people would be open to getting together or having a conversation on the phone where they can each share something they appreciated about one another.

"I'm sunsetting that guy I told you about."
"I feel like it's time to sunset this relationship."
