New term for descendants of enslaved Africans in the United States. The term distinguishes their culture from being the broader African diaspora and establish a new identity that isnât apart from their heritage and traditions yet sets a boundary from being lost in history as a lost ethnicity. (Not claiming American because of the psychological and physical manipulation and erasing their attachment to their ancestors home.)
