NOOB/NEWB/N00B are the same thing and are commonly used interchangeably. Being in chat and gaming for the last 20 years I am very familiar with this term. This word started as NEWB or NOOB. Pronouncing the word differently has derived the word NOOB or N00B or other derivatives of the word. Essentially it means someone who is new at a task. Often used as "I am still a noob" This is often used in games like WOW. AION, ETC.
Other meanings of the word could be more derogatory, âsuch as youâre a total freaking noobâ. This kind of usage can imply that the person has had enough time to learn something but has still not ascertained the knowledge to perform the task. Further might never be able to do such task.
The word stays the same although can be paired with different derogatory words such as âfucking noobâ: someone who did something really idiotic.
Noobsauce, Noob-a-tron, Noobinsky, Nooblicious, Noobish, Noob-o-na-vich.
Further evolution of the words has formed words like âNUBâ again this in my opinion was established by shortening the word. Something like âthat dude is a nubâ
There are many different branches of the word in the gaming / chat / online forms Culture. Since itâs a word that is constantly evolving hard to say which definition is wrong or in accurate.
Noob: you're a total fucking noob
Nub: He got ganked like a fucking nub
Newb: im a total newb at this.
N00b: Look i understand you're still kind of a n00b at this i can help you get better though.
Nooblicious: That armor looks kind of nooblicious though.
Noob-a-tron: that dude is a total noob. Noob-a-tron pro.
