Need for Speed Carbon

Released in late 2006, this was the twelfth title of the Need for Speed series. It was squeezed out just in time for Christmas, and it shows. Considered by many to be a major step down from the previous game in the series, Most Wanted, it featured a monochromatic and redundant environment, and severely dumbed down driving physics. Many of the cars, particularly the muscle cars, are poorly rendered and thin on complexity. Maybe Pro Street will be better.

This sucks. Let's go play Space Invaders.

I returned Need for Speed Carbon a day after I bought it.

Torture

Something George W. Bush will not, under any circumstance, allow to transpire. See 'waterboarding' and rendition and military tribunal.

Quotes by George W. Bush:

The United States is committed to the worldwide elimination of torture and we are leading this fight by example.

On United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, the United States reaffirms its commitment to the worldwide elimination of torture. Freedom from torture is an inalienable human right, and we are committed to building a world where human rights are respected and protected by the rule of lawҀ¦Throughout the world, there are many who have been seeking to have their voices heard, to stand up for their right to freedom, and to break the chains of tyranny. Too many of those courageous women and men are paying a terrible price for their brave acts of dissent. Many have been detained, arrested, thrown in prison, and subjected to torture by regimes that fail to understand that their habits of control will not serve them well in the long-term.

We do not torture.

Mini

(1) Ingenious economical surface transporter, and Britain's answer to fuel rationing. Manufactured in various forms between 1959 and 2000, the Mini epitomized practical simplicity more than any other British automobile. Affordable and versatile and easy to maintain, the Mini was loved by everyone from florists to plumbers to rally racers. Over 5.3 million were built by the end of it's production run.

(2) Bloated ugly status symbol, and quite common in American upscale neighborhoods. Manufactured from 2001-present, the Mini Cooper epitomizes trendy poor taste and virtual uselessness more than most any other modern automobile. Pricey, fragile, and expensive to maintain, the Mini Cooper is favored by upper-middle class females for it's supposed cuteness. Far too many have been built already.

The Mini has devolved from a lithe and capable subcompact to a midsize toy mall-runner.
