Jordan, Minnesota

Small town in rural Minnesota around 45 minutes southwest of Minneapolis. Came to light in the early eighties when several of the town's adults were swept up in a case of satanic child sexual abuse, as well as a song by Noise Rockers Big Black about the above mentioned incidents.

Jordan, Minnesota has a dark history.

La Crosse

A College Town in western Wisconsin on the Mississippi River. Essentially a small town with many elements of a big city. A nice place for people who want an escape from the city but not city life altogether. Plenty to do year round, though mostly in Summer and Winter.

Spend a weekend in La Crosse and you may have a new outlook on life when you go home.

Birthday

It means something different depending on age group:

0-3: Too young to understand
4-9: Best day of your life
10-14: Day you're treated better than usual
15-19: Day opposite sex is more likely to put out
20-death: Day to celebrate a year closer to death*

*Exceptions is with your 21st Birthday due to it being the legal age of adult and you are now considered old enough to consume alcohol legally and some age in your mid-sixties due to being old enough to retire.

Birthday reactions:

Young child: YES!!!!! I'm now a year older!!!!
Pre-teen: Yes! Closer to a teenager
Teen: Hopefully a (member of opposite sex) will do me tonight
Adult (Normal): Hooray I'm a year closer to the grave.
Adult (21): TIME TO GET DRUNK!!!!!!
Adult (60s): Finally, I can retire

The Exploding Hearts

An awesome Punk Rock/Power Pop act that met with a tragic end. Formed in Portland in 2001 by Adam Cox, Matt Fitzgerald, Terry Six, and Jeremy Cage. They released their debut album "Guitar Romantic" in April 2003 but sadly Cox, Fitzgerald, and Cage were killed in a car wreck three months later.

Long live The Exploding Hearts.

Biker Bar

A bar specifically made for bikers. Usually found along the side of a highway in small towns or in the middle of nowhere. Common activities include drinking (obviously), playing of billiards and/or darts, music (either recorded or live), sitting around and talking, and looking at each other's motorcycles.

Biker bars have a reputation for being rough places. Do not enter one if you are an outsider; if need to enter one arises however, make sure you are dressed tough, not looking dorky, and always watch what you say.

My dad once dreamed of opening a biker bar in southern Illinois.

Psalm 69

An awesome 1992 album from legendary Industrial Metal group Ministry. Often known as "Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the way to suck eggs" or ΓŽΒšΓŽΒ•ΓŽΒ¦ΓŽΒ‘ΓŽΒ›ΓŽΒ—ΓŽΒžΓŽΒ˜ (Greek for "Head" and "69"). The album contains two of Ministry's best known hits, "NWO", an anti-war song aimed at then-president George H.W. Bush, and "Just One Fix", which had legendary writer William S. Burroughs.

In order to knock the Justin Bieber out of Seth, I'm going to tie him in a chair, tape his mouth shut, and play Ministry's Psalm 69 album at full volume.

Dead Souls

Song by English Post-Punk band Joy Division from their Licht und Blindheit EP as well as at least one of their greatest hits albums. The song gained huge popularity when Nine Inch Nails did an amazing cover of it for the soundtrack to the 1994 movie The Crow.

Someone take these dreams away
that point me to another day.
A Duel of personalities
that stretch all true realities.
-From Dead Souls by Joy Division and later covered by NIN

RIP Ian Curtis and Brandon Lee
and thank you Trent Reznor.
