1)A kid, usually at a University in New England, who is a cross between a gentleman and a jerk, a jock and a wimp. Their habitat is includes the Harvard library, Brooks Brothers, cricket clubs, baseball clubs, polo clubs.
2) A type of dressing that walks a fine balance between sloppy and dressy and often utilises bright colours.
3) Contrary to popular belief, NOT characterised by clothes from A&F, Hollister. More like Brooks Brothers or J. Press.

It was safe to say that Emma and Jack were preps, because Emma used a Brooks tie for a belt and Jack was obsessed with baseball.
