Marcus Pace

This is a common term used to define a runner who, while on an easy run, decides to go way too quick and hence not reap the benefits of said easy run. It is believed to have been first used about the retired Irish distance athlete Marcus O’Sullivan who went to four summer Olympic Games.

Wow, you definitely did Marcus Pace today didn’t you? That wasn’t an easy run
