Alternate slang term for National Defense Service Medal (see also gedunk ribbon)

Described by a drill instructor in the sixties: "The firewatch ribbon is red for the blood you never shed, blue for the water you never crossed, white for the eyes of the enemy you've never seen, and yellow for the reason why."
