When something happens automatically, but in a very bad way
This program that the last guy wrote autotragically "cleaned" all the users' data; you can imagine how that went over.
The hazing of people leaving a group, as opposed to joining.
When my co-worker quit, there was some serious reverse hazing; we don't expect him to ever re-apply.
