Jack Chick Tract

A quasi-religious tract sized similar to a "Tijuana Bible" in comic-book format, tending to the overly lurid and tasteless (hence, unintentionally hilarious) in its desire of "winning hearts and minds to Christ." Named for its creator (1924-2016), who was notorious for refusing interviews and, hence, the subject of much speculation.

How many Jack Chick Tracts have you found on your walks today?

Dellshead

One who regularly visits Wisconsin Dells to the point of being passionate about same, reinforced by a souvenir T-shirt worn regularly as a walking billboard of sorts, or interjects or otherwise alludes to Wisconsin Dells in conversation back home. Patterned on "Deadhead" (i.e., Grateful Dead fans) and "Parrothead" (i.e., Jimmy Buffett fans).

I couldn't help but notice so many Wisconsin Dells T-shirts at the Jewel when I was shopping the other day; seems those Dellsheads have been a little more obvious in their presence since the season ended.

Bransonkultur

The cultural conservative ideal and exemplar of American Cultural Identity, Heritage and Folkways, one having elements of the German Heimat genre idealising a pious and simple rural life and culture and conservative propaganda dogwhistles, as in certain music shows in Branson, Missouri. Portmonteau of Branson and Kultur, the German term for "culture."

Enough of this Bransonkultur!

Old Pythonian

A passionate fan of Monty Python and its film and TV incarnations, one especially fond of quoting verbatim whole sketches by heart, walking in Ministry of Silly Walks fashion or watching Monty Python videos online. Patterned, obviously, on "old boy," as in a graduate of a prestigious English public school, with the inevitable variants for various such, e.g., "Old Etonian," "Old Harrovian," "Old Reptonian," "Old Wykehamist," &c.

In Blackpool recently, I came across this rather campy Old Pythonian on the Promenade; he could whistle "The Lumberjack Song" while going into that rather disapproving Ministry of Silly Walks gait, all the while wearing a Pepperpot-type dress.

Hanna-Barberian

A passionate fan of the cartoons produced by the Hanna-Barbera animation studio; alternately, a collector of anything relating to Hanna-Barbera's cartoons, including toys, books, dolls, T-shirts, video games and even animation cels. Patterned on "old boy," a common term for graduates of English public schools (with variants such as "Old Etonian," "Old Harrovian," "Old Reptonian," "Old Wykehamist," etc.)

Imagine the typical Hanna-Barberian at ComicCon: hopelessly enraptured in that world of Saturday mornings past, wearing his Flintstones T-shirt and unable to resist passing by the booths of such selling memorabilia from those shows he wasted Saturday mornings on.
