Inner Northern suburb of Melbourne, in between Brunswick and Fawkner. Populated by a diverse ethnic population, including Lebanese, Turkish, Greek, Italian and Slavic. Formerly a working-class area, but becoming fashionable due to its proximity to Brunswick and Sydney Road.

Camby

Melbourne slang for Campbellfield, outer Northern suburb of Melbourne, in between Broady and Dallas. Home of the Ford Factory and near Upfield Station, the Broady Mosque and the Fawkner Cemetery.

I caught the Upfield Line out to Camby the other day.

brunswick

Inner Northern suburb of Melbourne, surrounded by North Carlton, Coburg and Parkville. Known for Sydney Road and Lygon Street, home to a large number of popular pubs, cafes and restaurants and such places. Also known for Savers on Sydney Road, where a lot of clothes and other such items are sold at reasonable prices.

I bought a great jacket from Brunswick Savers.

Inner-city suburb in the North-East of Melbourne, near Fitzroy and Carlton. Known for the Collingwood Football Club and various music venues including the Tote and the Barley Corn.

Going to see a band play at the Tote in Collingwood.

Frankston

Outer beachside suburb South of Melbourne, near the Mornington Peninsula, originally known as a lower socioeconomic area with a high crime rate, but has recently gone up in value and is now quite a respectable area.

Colloquially referred to as Franky or Franga.

Was in Frankston the other day, that place has changed a lot.

Inner suburb in the North of Melbourne, surrounded by North Melbourne, Carlton and Brunswick. Best known for the University of Melbourne, located near the border of Parkville and Carlton, and the Optus Oval.

I'm enrolling at Melbourne Uni, Parkville Campus.

Melbourne slang for Langwarrin, a town approximately 40 kilometres South-East of Melbourne, in the city of Frankston, surrounded by Somerville and Cranbourne. Known for the Flora and Fauna Reserve, and populated mostly by working-class Anglo-Australians.
