it is a Tagalog term, a noun, lods came from the word idol, Filipinos have reversed it resulting to lodi, then removing the i replacing it with s then comes lods as well as lodicakes, you just reverse idol and put cakes, lodicakes.

"musta ka lods", "ayokong sumama lodicakes", "anong kailangan mo lodi?"
