Kook Reject

Also known as 'Kook Wannabe', this term applies to the adolescent males who are commonly found hanging around North London immmitating the style of the Brighton Bands lead singer, Luke Pritchard. The Style/Dress code consists of a large curly mop of hair, a straw hat, Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, either a beaten, old leather jacket or a black cromby jacket, dark, faded, dirty skinny jeans and beaten old pointy shoes.
A local haunt for these wannabe's would be Camden of N. London. Commonly found in KOKO mixing with their sexual oppositions, indie cindy's.

"Man, did you see him, he was such a Kook Reject!"
"God man! Take that hat off, you look like a Kook Reject!"
"You're just a dirty Kook Wannabe!"

KOKO

With the perfect location and vintage decor, KOKO is notably the most famous haunt of North London’s Camden. Happily sitting on the badlands of Mornington crescent, KOKO is the centre piece of the thriving indie scene that so consumes Camden. With Previous acts such as The Kooks, The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, Lily Allen to name but a few, this club is sure to make it into the next century.

In the 1970s it became a live music venue, called The Music Machine, and in 1982 became the Camden Palace, and in 2004 it was redeveloped and renamed once again as KOKO, with a capacity of 1,500. The previous industrial fittings of the Camden Palace were removed and it was repainted in a dark red colour.
Since then it has hosted concerts for bands like of Coldplay, Madonna, and Babyshambles and has regular weekly club nights. The video for the Placebo's Because I Want You single was shot at the venue. Additionally, Testament's Live in London cd/dvd release was recorded and filmed on May 8, 2005 at Koko. The American Rock band My Chemical Romance played an exclusive private gig here, hosted by Radio 1 on 2 April 2007. The Channel 4 programme The Album Chart Show is recorded at Koko.

indie ponce

Indie ponce is the term used to describe an adolescent male who believes he is the ultimate indie character. This may be due to fashion, musical talent or general behaviour, most of the times all of these come into consideration. Usually an indie ponce has a select group of friends, which all adore him and believe that he is, in fact, the ultimate indie figure, but rarely has the indie ponce got any friends outside of his small circle.
Common traits:
Style: Skinny jeans, Pointy shoes, cardigans, most often very skinny in physique, most commonly to have a tattoo of either song lyrics or poetry in Latin or Italian.
Musical Talent: Often thought of as a 21st Century Poet, by himself or his inner circle, he believes he is the modern day version of T. S. Eliot and Hunter S. Thompson combined in one skinny indie kid.
General Behaviour: Generally of Public school background, will always be in a relationship with an indie cindy, only ever drinks Jack Daniels and Coke, believes that ‘being spotted’ is key to everything.
Heroes: Pete Doherty, J. D Salinger, Shakespeare, T. S. Eliot, Hunter S. Thompson, His parents.
