Joycon drift

The state of one or both of the Nintendo Switch controllers (Joycons*) having their thumbstick (sometimes, or always) stuck going in a certain direction — especially in the direction that may be considered "down" for the controller in its vertical configuration.

"I can't use my Switch now; I got Joycon drift."
"Nintendo needs to fix Joycon drift."

Overworld

Unc. n. 1.) A place in a videogame where levels, or other areas of the overworld, are connected; a hub.

Unc. n. 2.) A location in a videogame that takes place on or above the ground, or, more generally, anywhere within the natural world.
A) Above ground.
B) Anywhere that is not (considered) supernatural.

Adj. 3.) Pertaining to the sections of a game that take place above ground or within the game's "natural" world.

"The original Super Mario Bros. did not have an overworld-map."
"Donkey Kong Country, for the most part, takes place in the overworld."
"One block in the nether is eight blocks in the overworld."
"I love the overworld music in New Super Mario Bros. Wii!"

Metaplural

N. 1.) A plural word that is derived from a word which itself is pluralized.

Adj. 2.) That which is a plural of a plural; like a metaplural.

"Peoples" is a metaplural (that means more than one group of people, usually of different nationalities) because "peoples" is the plural of "people", and "people" is the plural of "person".
Similarly, "fishes" is a metaplural; you use "fish" as a plural when referring to only one species, but if you have multiple species, you use "fishes", plural of "fish" (which is the plural of itself).

Boundingbox

N. 1.) A, sometimes imaginary, rectangle which surrounds a given area and is only as big as the sum of what its contents (including the distance between them); a container.

"In many graphic-design applications, the selection-tool will create a boundingbox if you've selected multiple elements."
"The boundingbox contains a pasted image."

Selfstanding

1.) Existing by means of one's own ability, wit, etc...; independent.
2.) Resting, usually upright, without the support of other objects; self-supporting.

“I learned to become selfstanding due to my poor living conditions.”
“A selfstanding woman.”
