The Great Hong Kong Toilet Roll Crisis of 2020

A period in early 2020 when rumours in Hong Kong of a lack of supply caused panic buying and hoarding of Toilet Rolls.

It was even reported that armed robbers stole hundreds of toilet rolls which were being delivered to a supermarket in Mong Kok.

Toilet Roll Panic

1. Sudden uncontrollable anxiety sufferred during use of a sit-down public lavatory when it is discovered that the toilet roll is missing or has run out.

2. A phrase coined by the chief executive of the Hong Kong Consumer Council, during The Great HK Toilet Roll Crisis of 2020 which arose from rumours of a lack of supply due to manufacturers switching production to face masks.

Having done my business I looked around and sufferred a brief bout of Toilet Roll Panic on seeing the empty bog roll holder
