Kaioshin

Kaioshin (or supreme Kai, in the english dub of DBZ, of the dragonball series), is the supreme overseer of the entire universe, his vision allows him to see any event taking place anywhere in the universe. His "kai kai" technique allows him to teleport to anywhere in the universe regardless of whether or not a ki signature is there.

He can also summon any material in the universe in any shape at will into thin air, he can also read the mind of anyone in the universe. He uses the name "Shen" to enter in the world material arts tournament.

The name 'Kai', refers to an overseer, or ruler, the grand kai, oversees the 4 universal quadrant Kais (north, east, south, and west) and those Kai's watch over their region of the universe.

Kaioshin is not as strong as the saiyans, but he has vast knowledge and unique abilities.

Kamehameha

Kamehameha translated literally from phonetic Japanese to English means "Turtle Destruction Wave".
Kame (turtle) Hameha (destruction wave/blast)

This attack was created by Master Roshi during his material arts training. The Kamehameha wave sacrifices attack preparedness and speed in order to cause massive damage.

Variations:

Instant Kamehameha: Seen only once in the Cell Games Saga, while Goku is fighting Complete Cell, he is losing energy rapidly and pushes his remaining energy into one wave, at first it seems like he is going to destroy the planet and take Cell with him, however at the last minute he uses Instant Transmission (the technique of forming your physical body into mass a light and traveling to a location of somebody's Ki to teleport directly in front of cell, thus canceling out Kamehameha's low rate of speed, and the time it takes to build up the attack

Big Bang Kamehameha: Gogeta's take on the Kamehameha and the Big Bang Attack, derived from Goku and Vegeta receptively.

In the first season, after Goku gets back from his training with North Kai, he uses the 4x Kaioken technique to increase the power of his wave, at the point where Vegeta tries to destroy the planet using his Galick Gun (a technique similar too, and is presumably as powerful if not moreso than a Kamehameha, this is hinted at because it takes a long time to gather the energy to fire this attack).

The Kamehameha wave was created by Master Roshi, a material arts trainer from the fictional anime series Dragonball.

Freeza

An alternate spelling of Frieza, one of the main villains in the dragonball series. Both spellings are valid and can be used interchangeably, much like Kakarot.

He is defeated once by the recently super saiyan Goku, and is killed by Trunks at the beginning of the android saga, after being restored and now mostly machine, his father, King Cold is also killed in the same episode.

Freeza was the most powerful being in the universe, until Goku came along and handed his ass to him after transforming into a super saiyan.

Vegeta

The prince of all saiyans. He is dragonball z's second villain (along with nappa). He is named after his father and his home planet, formerly Planet Plant. It is when he first arrives on namek that he begins to change his evil ways, and later in the series, he would become one of the good guys. After witnessing Goku (Kakarot)'s strength, he understands his potential to become a super saiyan, and obsesses over becoming one throughout the rest of the series.

He falsely believes he is a super saiyan after coming back from near death some time after realizing that Goku is a super saiyan. He starts to become less evil after arriving on Earth after Frieza's defeat, but still retains his mean and arrogant attitude. He starts dedicating every hour of every day to training, pushing himself to hit limits and beyond, training at 450x normal gravity in order to become a super saiyan, and nearly killing himself in a training accident on earth. He goes to train in space as not to be bothered by Bulma or anyone else, and finally transforms on a planet where a meteor shower was going on.

His name, like all Saiyans is a pun on vegetables, his name is a pun on the word vegetable.

Vegeta was able to transform into a super saiyan because of his motivation to be the best, and more importantly, better than Goku. His extreme frustration and NEEDING to experience becoming a super saiyan, he finally transforms after giving up his selfish ambition. For the brief period of time between Goku getting sick and transforming, he becomes stronger than him, but is surpassed during his training in other world where he learns to become a super saiyan 3. He does not surpass Goku until he transforms into a super saiyan 4.

Dr. Gero

A scientist that works for the Red Ribbon Army. He created Android 16 for the sole purpose of destroying Goku, Android 17 and Android 18 for making Cell perfect, and Android 20 (himself) to make himself immortal. He also creates android 19 to serve him, as he is easier to control than the others. He also created Hell Fighter 17, and subsequently Super Android 17. He is ultimately killed by his creations after threatening to use the emergency suspension controller on 17 and 18. His ultimate achievement is Cell, and it was implied that his original reason for being created was to destroy the entire universe, which he could have done if things had not played out the way the did in the series. He could simply blow himself up every time someone stronger than him appears.

While in his android form, he refers to himself in the third person as to conceal his true identity. Is name is pronounced "Doctor Jero".

Dr. Gero: I cleared the area of innocents, in accordance with your wishes. Do you disagree with my methods?

ls

ls is a command to list files in Unix and Unix-like operating systems. ls displays files in a bare format. It is a shortening of 'list'. The list of arguments for ls include:

* -l long format, displaying Unix file types, permissions, number of hard links, owner, group, size, date, and filename

* -F appends a character revealing the nature of a file, for example, * for an executable, or / for a directory. Regular files have no suffix.

* -a lists all files in the given directory, including those whose names start with "." (which are hidden files in Unix). By default, these files are excluded from the list.

* -R recursively lists subdirectories. The command ls -R / would therefore list all files.

* -d shows information about a symbolic link or directory, rather than about the link's target or listing the contents of a directory.

* -t sort the list of files by modification time.

* -h print sizes in human readable format. (e.g., 1K, 234M, 2G, etc.)
