Pound Puppy

Pound puppies is a term, when applied to people, that means they are children who need to be rescued Or who can’t take care of themselves.

My MIL said her son married a “pound puppy” which sounds cute but what she was really saying is that I am lower class than her family and that my husband rescued me.
