An art director or client that makes numerous minor and/or pointless changes to a project, believing that what they're doing will make the project hundreds of times better.
Production guy #1: "Is that project done yet? It's got to go to press!"
Production guy #2: "Nope, the client is still being a taste fairy."
Production guy #1: "Cripes, it's just a newspaper ad. It's not like it'll win an award."
The term was coined at ad agencies to describe an art director that avoids involvement in a projects until it becomes a perceived problem at the production phase. Usually a result of forgetting the project was in the works. The art director will make a scene with their production team, order revisions (usually very minor taste fairy changes) and vanish as quickly as they appeared.
This type of art director is sometimes called a "seagull" for short.
Production person 1: "Was that the art director} making all that noise?"
Production person 2: "Yeah, he was being a seagull art director. He swooped in, made a bunch of noise, shit all over everything and flew away."
Production person 1: "Are you going to do what he wants?"
Production person 2: "Nope."
Having qualities that resemble that of a mermaid.

When someone agrees to work on a project knowing that if said project isn't bought by the client, they won't be paid. This term is often used by people that work in advertising, marketing and other creative fields. This can sometimes be confused for doing work for exposure.
So you want me to do this project on spec? Screw you pal. I need to get paid.

Originally coined by Frank Zappa. When an artist/producer fully realizes the performance potential of a tune. Also applies to any creative form. When a painter adds elements to add to a piece that takes it good to great. Usually done at the end of the project.
I'm almost done with the production of this song. I just need to put the eyebrows on it.
KMA (Kiss My Ass) refers to a project or job that one does for little or no pay.
I'll get to these KMA projects after I finish my paying work.
