1) a threat used by a bomber where they force their hostages to spill out classified information or else they get blown up
2) ironic/satirical statement for when you just want someone to shut up but they keep on blathering on about stuff you don't care about

Bank robber: *rips the duct tape off of Karen's mouth* Give me the code to the safe
Karen: *cries* I won't let you do this!!!!
Bank robber: Shut up! Now keep talking and nobody explodes!!

Her: .......sitting on this balcony and I wanted to talk to him but couldnt but then I drank a glass of wine and I did but ended up talking to another guy who seemed cool and so I blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah........ and we took a selfie together.

Cultural reset

A single point in time that serves as a reference point to indicate a significant shift in popular culture. The point in time often refers to a specific real-world event that is tremendously influential, so much so that it profoundly affects and reshapes popular and mainstream culture. Usually, a cultural reset is promptly followed by a new Zeitgeist (which means "the defining spirit or mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs").

Trump winning the 2016 election is a clear-cut example of a cultural reset. After this point in time, pop culture became increasingly more fixated on politics and social justice. Internet memes went through a complete terrible overhaul. Pop music began to shift from inspirational to silly frivolous tunes (both musically and lyrically). And people have started adopting a more critical view towards what they read on the news.

Internalized oppression

Technical meaning: To internalize the fact of being oppressed. In other words, to treat the state of oppression as if it were normal.

Internalized oppression: as the tyrannical king ruled over the country, its citizens have eventually learned to treat the harsh oppression as a part of their normal everyday life, never questioning their freedoms.

Town of us

A popular among us mod which introduces 19 additional roles that players can become. This mod significantly changes the game dynamics as it's meant to make the gameplay and player-to-player interactions far more interesting and elaborate. Before you could either play as a generic crewmate or an imposter, but now in town of us there are different types of crewmates and imposters, each with a special ability. There are also neutral roles as well, which have their own win condition (i.e. they are their own team).

There are many roles, but I will name a few that are worthy of mention:
‣ JESTER NEUTRAL: Basically you have to get yourself voted out to win. Really adds another dimension to the game.
‣ THE GLITCH NEUTRAL: This one is cool. You can kill, vent, disable other crewmate's tasks, and morph as other players. It's more badass than most of the imposter roles.
‣ TIMELORD CREWMATE: This bad boi can rewind time, reversing player's movements and undoing any deaths.
‣ ARSONIST NEUTRAL: Another insanely badass role. To win, you secretly douse every player with oil and then set them all on fire. It's fairly easy to win as Arsonist.
‣ SWOOPER IMPOSTER: It's an imposter that can turn invisible for a short amount of time.
‣ SHERRIFF CREWMATE: A crewmate that can kill imposters. But if they kill another crewmate, they die.

Once you play town of us, you won't ever want to go back to vanilla among us. It's just way more fun.

Person 1: Man I've recently been obsessed with among us.
Person 2: Everybody goes through their among us phase at some point haha. I've already went through my phase before.
Person 1: Bro, you can't say you've had an among us phase if you've never played town of us yet. You'll find the vanilla version boring once you play modded among us.

Pinterest

Probably one of the most wholesome media sites ever created.

It's basically an aggregator of pictures centered around your hobbies and interests, whether that be bedroom decor ideas, nail art inspiration, or food recipes. Because it is mainly centered around images, there is little emphasis on user discussions (though you do have the ability to comment). There is also little to no emphasis on networking. I think both of these factors—along with it appealing more to females—contribute to the peaceful and wholesome nature of Pinterest.

After a day of browsing shitposts and idiotic discussion threads on X formerly Twitter, I decided to hop on Pinterest for some soothing eye bleach.

Reddit Moment

1) A term that initially had positive connotations but then became derogatory, and now it is mainly used ironically and vaguely in the same way as 'cringe' is.
2) Specifically refers to the idiocy of the Reddit hivemind. Whenever a horde of redditors attack someone because they like minecraft, that's when you'll know a reddit moment happened. The term is meant to be used by someone viewing the thread from outside (e.g. someone linking the thread from a discord GC).

Example 1a: You watch vtubers? That's a reddit moment tbh
Example 1b: You actually read through the entire terms of agreement? That's a reddit moment tbh

Example 2: Getting downvoted because you expressed an opinion that goes against the majority's opinion of a subreddit is a reddit moment.

progressive

A simple, innocuous and arguably positive word that has been—in recent times—more and more associated with left-wing politics.

Little do people remember the ACTUAL definition of the word progressive.

Me: did you know that the word progressive means "happening or developing gradually or in stages; proceeding step by step"?

My friend: no I did not, I thought it was just a derogatory term for liberals.
