A faithful and courageous name only given to those who are worthy enough to have this name bestowed upon them.
A prophet and son of Lehi his father, he had received the ability to talk to God through faith and dilligence.

I Nephi having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father.
