postcognitive

Knowledge which arrives after it might have. Seeing something clearly, once it has passed. Understanding everything just a bit too late.

The opposite of precognitive.

He knew the answer he should have given in the job interview, saw why Dianah had left him for the plumber, understood that the X-Ray Specs ad was probably bogus, and as always, his understanding was postcognitive.

impeccably ill-mannered

The quality of knowing how to offend and alienate as many people, in as short a time, as possible.

He was their new neighbor, so comprehensively offensive to everybody that within a couple of weeks of his arrival he was a laughing stock. No one wanted him there. No one was speaking to him, or ever would. He had trained hard to become what he was - impeccably ill-mannered. It was a talent given to few.

Virus afflicting carnivores, slaughterhouse workers and meat processors, potentially transmitted to humans by animals.

Anthem for our country, our democracy, for Covid victims and victims of police brutality, all gasping for air.

'Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air

in warm blood

A crime committed, not from passion exactly, yet with some slight degree of feeling.

She was said to have murdered him in warm blood, not that she really cared whether he was sleeping with her best friend, but it irritated her to learn about it on Facebook.

Themocracy

A system of government in which a politician's focus is directed toward one's opponents - "Them" - and not to their constituents.

Both parties devoted all of their time, energy and money to bringing each other down. Imagine if they spent it trying to make life better for those they were elected to 'represent'. We would have an actual Democracy, not the Themocracy we now suffer under.

Guitnarcolepsy

Falling asleep whilst playing the guitar, a nocturne in the key of Z.

Happens every time. He starts to practice and is soon having a rest, a clear case of guitnarcolepsy.
