gipsy

A West Indian/Caribbean term meaning "overly curious". Generally used to reprimand someone who asks too many questions about topics that don't concern them.

Boy: Mama, why that man have so many wives?
Mother: Don't be so gipsy.

Girl: I heard you tellin' Becky about that party last night. But I didn't hear the last part. What'd you say?
Other Girl: Why you so gipsy?
