From the title of a number of very active debating/shitposting groups on Facebook âThis is a weird hill to die onâ and a few variations on that title. A âhillâ is a metaphor for an opinion or argument, it is an opinion worth defending.
The hill is guarded or defended by the keeper of the opinion at various degrees of strength according to the:
a) the verbal powers of the defender
b) the convictions of the defender
c)the grit and ability to endure a humiliating bashing
but even more important than these they are most helped by how many people who carry the same convictions as the defender and who are willing to assist them in their defending of their hill. Strength in numbers
Hills are to be attacked and hills are to be defended.
âPopeyes chicken rules over KFC and that is a hill worth dying onâ
âA hill about fast food chicken is one worth dying on, seems like a pretty weird hill to die on if you ask me.â
