iPod Sloth

Refers to users of any number of PDAs (e.g. iPhone, iPod, Blackberry) that use them while in motion; this causes aberrant behaviors in the walking cycle.

The ability to text or read messages while maintaining the necessary sensory input to respond to the world around you is extremely difficult if not impossible. Users often accelerate and decelerate in a manner that seems random to those around them. This makes iPod Sloths a danger to themselves and other.

Hazards include: People (still or in motion, in front or behind), Light Posts, Parking Meters, Traffic

Well officer,
This girl was such an iPod Sloth that she ran into 3 people waiting at the crosswalk, then walked right into traffic without noticing, and never stopped texting!

Sidewalk Sloths

1 or more person(s), usually sightseers, walking slowly in a busy urban environment so as to prevent others from passing.

Due to their sightseeing nature, The Sidewalk Sloth often doesn't travel in a straight line and can impede passing in other ways (e.g. pointing at things, changing direction while lost). These behaviors can lead to injury of for fellow sidewalk users. It also allows fewer practitioners to block the sidewalk than the Sidewalk Snail Barrier.
