poontang

A slang term orginated by Whalers at sea in the south Atlantic and Pacific in the middle 17th century. When a whale was spotted, the first sailor to get a harpoon or "poon" into the beast could claim the coveted blowhole. That evening after tearing the whale down the sailors would throw a huge party. The blowhole claimant would slather the blowhole with whale blubber and make a grand display of porking the blowhole until spewing his man juice while the officers and crew played harmonicas, banjos, violins accordians and drums. When the first "pooner" was satisfied, the other men in the first pooner's boat could use the hole for personal gratification. This was known as the "Poon-gang". Over time, the term was bastardized and slurred and misspoken until the present term "Poontang" came into common use by seamen.
