Used to describe intimate involvement with someone, while you're in a complicated relationship with someone else, with emphasis on the fact that it is NOT cheating.

A situationship occurring whilst one or more parties are in another established relationship, the latter having room to see other people.

I was unhappy in my relationship with Joel, and at that time, I found myself in an entanglement with his brother
